Abstract
The research entitled "Attitude of Teachers and Students towards Tasks and Exercises
of English Textbook" is aimed at finding the attitude of both teachers and students
towards tasks and exercise of English textbook. The English teachers were selected
from both public as well as institutional schools. The students studying in grade x in
the schools of Birtamode Municipality were in the sample of study. Two public
schools and two institutional schools were in selection. This is an experimental and
quantitative research design 2 schools out of 7 public schools and 2 schools out of 25
institutionalized schools have been taken as sample and five students as well as one
teacher were selected from each sample school for the research 10 each. Questionaires
were given to both teachers and students for collecting the data for the research the
collected data was analyzed and discussed to find out the attitude of teachers and
students for grade ten English text books tasks and exercises from the analysis and
discussion of the data the research findings were derived the tasks and exercise
designed in the grade ten English test book and not so appropriate. Thus research
study concludes that it is better to have more motivative tasks and exercises that can
catch up the instincts of the teenager learners.
This study consists of five chapters. Chapter one deals with the introduction, it
consists of background of the study, statement of the problems, rationale of the study
objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of
the study and operational definitions of the key terms. Similarly chapter two consists
of the review. Related literature and conceptual frame work. It deals with review of
related theoretical and empirical literature implication of the review for the study and
conceptual framework. Likewise chapter three presents methods and procedures of
the study. This includes design of the study. This includes design of the study
population and sample, sampling procedure data collection tools and data collection
procedure. In the same way chapter four consists of results and discussion of the data.
Finally, chapter five incorporates summary, conclusion and implications. On the basis
of results and discussion some important findings and implication for the policy level
practice level and further research have been made.
