Abstract
This study entitled Analysis of Code Mixing in the Nepali Novel: Akshyar
Gunj aimed to find out the mixed English expressions and their context in the
novel. I collected mixed codes from a Nepali novel Akshyar Gunj. To generate
relevant data, I used checklist for data collection under the survey research
design. The required data were gathered by non random sampling procedure. This
research study was based on secondary sources of data. This research study
showed that English codes were heavily mixed in different situational contexts in
the novel Akshyar Gunj. The findings of the study showed that word level
expressions were highly frequent in comparisons to other levels of expressions.
Similarly, naming words were more frequent than verbs, adjectives and adverbs.
In the same way, English mixed expressions were used frequently while talking
about books and restaurants.
