Abstract
This thesis entitled ‘Subject-Verb Agreement in English and Yamphu’ has been carried out to find out Yamphu Subject-Verb Agreement and to compare and contrast English Subject-Verb Agreement System with the Yamphu Language and to suggest some pedagogical implications on the basis of the findings drawn from the study. To accomplish the objectives of the study, the researcher collected data from eighty native speakers of the Yamphu language by using interview schedule. English data were collected from secondary sources. The researcher found that the Yamphu verbs agree with tense, aspect, object, person and number.
This thesis consists of four chapters: Introduction, Methodology, Analysis and Interpretation; and Findings and Recommendations. The first chapter includes general background, review of the related literature, objectives of the study, significance of the study and definitions of the related terms. Similarly, the second chapter deals with sources of data, sample of the study, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. The third chapter comprises the analysis and interpretation of collected data and the fourth chapter deals with findings and recommendations of the study.
