Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to find out the perceptions of secondaryEnglish teachers on lesson planning and its practices. Ihaveselected 27 secondaryteachersfromtheKathmandu district. For the present study, I used a set ofquestionnaire and observation check-list in order to collect the requiredinformation.Twenty classes oftheteachers were observedand analyzed. The datacollected were analysed and interpreted to find out the teachers' perception andpractice of lesson planning.It was found that the secondary English teachers of theKathmandu district were highly positive towards lesson planning and none of theteachers practice real lesson plan in their teaching.
This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter deals with generalbackground, lesson planning, importance of lesson planning, review of the relatedliterature, objectives and significance of study. The second chapter deals with themethodology adopted to carry out the research. The third chapter deals withanalysis and interpretation of data. This chapter consists of two sub sections. Thefirst sub-section deals with analysis of questionnaire. While analysing the data, thetotal number ofrespondentsfor each response has been counted and the numbershave been changed into percentage. The second sub-section deals with the analysisof observation check list. Thefourthchapter consists of findings andrecommendations of the study.
