Developing Short Story Through Pictures

Abstract

The present studyentitledDeveloping Short Story Through Pictureswasconducted with the aim to see the effectiveness of pictures in developing shortstory in secondary level students. The study was carried out using both primaryand secondary sources of data. The primary data wereobtained from thirtystudents of Green Village Secondary School, Kirtipur,which were taken assample of study. Forthesecondarysources ofdata Ihad useddifferent booksand other materials. I administered pre-test, progressive tests, post test as atools to collect the data. After conducting different tests, the results of all testswere compared and analyzed to determine effectiveness of pictures ondeveloping short story. After analyzing and interpreting the data, the pictureswere found to beeffective in teaching short story in secondary level students.So, it would be betters to apply picture as a tool to teach writing short story. This thesisconsists offour chapters. The first chapter deals with generalbackground, review of relatedliterature, objectives and significanceofthestudy. The second chapter presents the methodology adopted to carry out thestudy, sources of data, sampling procedures, tools and process of datacollection and limitationsof the study. The third chapter deals with the analysisand interpretation of data.The fourth chapter presents the findingsandrecommendationsof the study. Finally,references and appendiceshave beenincluded.
