Abstract

Conrad’sThe Secret Agentuses irony to reduce the anarchists as pests. What he represents as the anarchists are the Irish and Indian revolutionaries indulging in subversion in London in an attempt to force British Empire to withdraw itself from these countries. Irony in the novel is the vehicle carrying the colonial interests of the British Empire
