Abstract

The present dissertationexploresHemingway’s depiction of his female characters in contrast to the image of his macho male characters. Hemingway’sMen Without Womendevelops an image of masculinity that is constructed and associated with the notion of strength. On the other hand, his female characters are depicted in terms of stereotypical biological characteristics. The common theme thatis found in most of the stories inMen Without Womentends to highlight latent misogynism of Hemingway.
