Nepali Dohori Geets and Subaltern Concern

Abstract

The present dissertation concerns with the question of the representation of subaltern classes--poor,Dalits, women and many other marginalized groups—Nepali Dohori Geets. Deriving the theoretical stuff from the subaltern studies, it analyses the status of marginal groups and their representation in NepaliDohori Geet.Thus the paper thatDohori Geet,despite being orally transmitted as the part of entertainment programme recovers the agency and subjecthood of the people at the bottom of social ladder.
