Abstract
This research entitled"The Proficiency of the Grade Ten Students in Speaking Skill"aims at finding out the proficiency of the 10
the
graders in the speaking skill in terms of pronunciation, accuracy, fluency and vocabulary. This study is based on the primary sources of data. The sample population of the study consisted of forty students studying in class 10 from four public secondary schools of Kapilvastu district. The required data were collected by distributing test items to the selected respondents. The responses were recorded in the tape recorder and analyzed.
The research found that the proficiency of the students in speaking skill is not satis factory
This thesis has four chapters. Chapter one introduces the study in term of general background, introduction to language skills, review of related literature, objectives of the study and significance of the study. Chapter two consists of methodology.The study is based on both primary and secondary sources of the data. This chapter also includes population of the study, sample population, sampling procedure, tools for data collection and limitation of the study. The third chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation of the collected data. The data were analyzed on the basis of variables that were specified in the objectives of the study.The fourth chapter consists of the finding and recommendations of the study. The findings have been outlined on the basis of the analysis and interpretation of the data and appropriate recommendations and pedagogical implications have been made.
