Female’s repressed desires are exposed in the text. In every bend of their lives, women encounter male domination and sometimes they are portrayed with the sense of resistance but at some other times they are represented as compromising with patriarchal regime. In the play two women characters, namely, Mayaju and Bhadrakali, initially, try to do away with patriarchy but at the end of the play they seem to be accepting it. Mayaju recieves freedom after she gets married with the traveller.
