No comparative research has been conducted till now in this area to show the differences between co-ordination in English and Maithili. Therefore, an attempt has been made here to present identify and analyzing co-ordination in English and Maithili and discovering the main similarities and differences between them. To conduct the research, the researcher took the sample of twenty-one elderly Maithili native speakers. The total population will be divided into two groups viz. literate and illiterate of Shreepur V.D.C. of Mahottari district. The researcher, therefore, carried out this research on finding differences and similarities of co-ordination between the English and Maithili. The thesis consists of four chapters: Introduction, Methodology, Analysis and Interpretation and Findings and Recommendations. The first chapter is introductory in nature. It includes general background, short description of co-ordination. It also includes the objectives of study, review of related literature, significance of the study and definition of specific terms used in the research. The second chapter deals with the methodology adopted during the study. In the preparation of this thesis, both primary and secondary sources of data have been taken into account. The population of the study and the limitations of the study are also mentioned. Similarly, the third chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation of the co-ordinators of the English and the Maithili languages. The last chapter deals with some suggestions made on the basis of findings of the study.
