Without water no life can be imagined. The provision of safe drinking water supply is one of the most effective measures to improve the health of people. To provide safe drinking water and to control water born diseases; various efforts were made by government as well as non-government sectors. Among them, NEWAH is an active NGO that works in rural Nepal providing clean drinking water, sanitation and health education. Nepal's environmental challenges cover a wide range of complex issues, which are interrelated and detrimental to health. The main environmental issues are water pollution due to poor sewerage and sanitation; industrial discharge wastages, rapid population growth, rural-urban migration, poverty etc, are the major causes of environmental degradation in Nepal. Poor water supply and lack of sanitation has been the cause of diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid, skin diseases etc The present study mostly has been focused on the impact of safe drinking water and sanitation on rural people health and environment. Various books, reports and dissertations related to the study have been reviewed. Descriptive research design has been followed and data were collected through traditional methods. The data has been analyzed using descriptive methods of analysis. In the study area, there are 9 public taps distributed among 70 households. Opportunity to drinking water and sanitation and other advantages from them will naturally satisfy them. Due to pure drinking supply and sanitation facility, various water born diseases are controlled and the villages are clean and they (people) have also got extra time to do other works.
