I used survey research design under quantitative research approach where open-ended and close-ended questionnaires were used as the primary data collection tools. Forty respondents from the elevencommunity schools were selected using random sampling procedures. The data collected were analysed and interpreted thematically. The finding revealed that teachers employed a range of strategies to develop students’ speaking abilities. Among them, role play was the most frequently used technique. Other strategies included dramatization, simulations, communicative activities, dialogues, and group work. These results suggest that teachers adopt diverse and interactive methods to actively engage students and enhance their speaking skills.
