Item ALKALOID EXTRACT OF ACACIA CATECHU BARK AS GREEN INHIBITOR FOR MILD STEEL CORROSION IN 1 M H2SO4 SOLUTION(Amrit Campus, 2023-08-17) Karki, RajaramIn situ corrosion inhibition in acid cleaning processes by using green inhibitors is at the forefront in corrosion chemistry. Plant extracts, especially alkaloids, are known to be good corrosion inhibitors against mild steel corrosion. In this research, alkaloids extracted from Acacia catechu has been used as green corrosion inhibitor for mild steel corrosion in 1 M H2SO4 solution. Qualitative chemical tests and FTIR measurements have been performed to confirm alkaloids in the extract. The weight loss measurement has been adopted for the study of inhibitor concentration effect as well as variation of inhibition efficiency for time and temperature. Weight loss measurement reveals the maximum efficiency of 93.96 % at 3 hrs at 28 C. The 1000 ppm inhibitor can work up to a temperature of 48 C with 84.39 % efficiency. The inhibition efficiency of extract has been studied by using weight loss and potentiodynamic polarization methods. Electrochemical measurement results revealed that the alkaloids act as a mixed type of inhibitor. The inhibition efficiency of 98.91 % and 98.54 % in the 1000 ppm of inhibitor concentration for as-immersed and immersed conditions, respectively has been achieved. The adsorption isotherm indicated the physical adsorption of alkaloids. Also, the spontaneous and endothermic adsorption processes have been indicated by thermodynamic parameters.Item Domestic Voilence Against Women in Newar Community: A Case Study of Thaha Municipality, Makawanpur District(Department of Rural Development, 2018) Karki, RajaramViolence against women is the universal problem. It occurs in the broad context of gender based violence and discrimination with regards to unequal power relations in both public and private spheres. The study entitled 'Domestic Violence against Women in Newar Community', a study in Thaha Municipality-3, Gopaligaun, Makawanpur, is based on 112 samples of married women of that place. The overall objectives of study are to know the knowledge and perception of women about domestic violence to examine the existing situation of domestic violence against women in study area and to learn about the possible solution to the problem of'Domestic Violence against Women' and to examine about the domestic violence against women is collected data with sex, age, education base. Descriptive and analytical research method is used to explore the actual condition of women in the study area. While under researching male dominated society is the main cause of the women violence, important cause is misunderstanding between husband and wife which increases mental tension, fake accusation by the family, drunkard husband, sexual misbehaviors and discrimination of income between male and female is also the main cause of the women violence. Violence against women is bearing problem in the world. Main reason of the domestic violence against women are unequal payment for equal work. Male dominated society is another part of the violence which leads the male to torture the female for physical and sexual violence, which has increased the number mentally suffered women in the society. To decreased these social domestic violence against women, the community should develop the atmosphere to involve the equal number of female in decision making level.Legislation victim support programme are to be managed, developed the system of Social respect system dignity towards women.Stakeholders should be launched effective programme to increase literacy rate and encourage women to struggle against evil part of the society and launched special programme to arise women economic status by advertising different media.
