The immigrants, Obi Okonkwo and Clara, after their migration to England, are unable to remain in their pure identity. This research paper explores elements that indicate to Achebe’s back up of the difference between African and European ways. No Longer at Ease examines the dissolution of modern urban environment which is contrasted from the idea of rural purity and stability. Achebe’s position remains between tradition and modernity, and the desire to retain traditional values and motivation to recognize changes and adaptations necessary for survival. This research attempts to apply Peter Childs as a theorist and his famous essay 'Modernism' as a methodological tool for my thesis. Loss of Faith, cultural exhaustion, questioning towards reality, disinterestedness and nothingness, immorality are some of the terms which is searched in this project. Thus, this research attempts to apply on the theoretical perspective of Peter Childs: Modernism to Achebe’s No Longer At Ease.Item Income and Expenditure Analysis of Banepa Municipality(Department of Economics, 2014-04) Nepal, DilarNot availableItem Socio-economic Status of Women in Saraswati and Thaneswori Community Forest Users’ Group of Gorkha District, Nepal(Department of Economics, 2014-04) Pandey, Pradip PrasadNot availableItem Correlation of Space and Time in H.G.Wells's The Time Machine(Department of English, 2014-04) Pandey, Suresh RajThis research is an attempt to explore both a philosophical enquiry into the nature of space-time as well as novel of pure imagination. It uses the chronotopic ideas of spatial and temporal dimension of Bakhtin in multiple timelines, intersecting plural voices with multiple meanings.H.G.Wells's The Time Machine makes first experimental journey along the fourth dimension. It crashes landing into the year 802701. The traveller experiences centrifugal and centripetal forces with new kind of experience in time. The entire theme of the novel centersina temporal discordance where narrator recalls another event before the story begins. Thus, the entire novel itself is a relieved memory. The Time Traveller was discussing in the beginning of the story. The title of the book is typically understood to refer to the machine, the narrators contained memory ofthe events, and the narrator’s memory could be referred to as a time machine. This is one of the strongest examples of how Wells reaffirms human dominance over time in space through the narrative and structure of his novel.Item On The Observables Analysis Of BB84 Photonic Encodings(Pulchowk Campus, 2014-04) Subba, UnishInformation and communication theory studies and seeks justification to cause and effect of information creation, transformation and detection processes. Quantum Information Theory studies information and communication theory from the elementary particles known as of today using the quantum mechanics theory formalism. Akin to Shannon's entropy which quantifies information is a probabilistic measure in classical information theory, the Von Neumann entropy is defined as information in QIT. Over the years many new application have been developed from QIT awareness and QKD is perhaps the earliest and most matured application. BB84 protocol is earliest QKD protocol which allows two parties to exchange secret key for secure communication. QKD BB84 protocol has gained growing interest primarily because everyday today we exchange valuable information. The security of communication relies on the fact of impossibility of creating exact copies of quantum states and measuring the quantum state without destroying it. The key is encoded in the states of photons and transmitted over the noisy channel. Many different kinds of researches have been conducted to check the security of the protocol. The security of BB84 QKD protocol relies on QBER. It is desirable to posses QBER as a function of single observable. This thesis investigates polarization and phase shift encoding of BB84 protocol to answer the possibility of existence of such single observable. A photon source is assumed that emits single photons which are encoded in polarization and phase. A noisy channel acts on the encoded photons and are subsequently decoded. QBER is calculated for both encoding and results are compared to extract possible common observable that links to single observable.Item The Marriage between Equals: Gender Relations in Charlotte Brontë'sJane Eyre(Department of English, 2014-04) Ale, Madhi MayaCharlotteBrontë's novel Jane Eyre has been approached from different perspectives. This thesis"The Marriage between Equals: Gender Relations in CharlotteBrontë'sJane Eyre" attempts to examine the mutual relationship and interdependence in companionate marriage. The novel’s three characters–Jane, Rochester and St.John Rivers–have different views and ideals regarding marriage and family relationship.Mr.Rochester at first and St. John Rivers attempt to have traditional dynastic type of marriage with Jane. The power of masculinity and conventionality is ultimately defeated by Jane as she gets married with Rochester on the basis of mutual relationship. This research explains the companionate marriage between Jane and Mr. Rochester by tracing the historical, social and cultural background of Victorian times. The male domineering power of the 19th century is evident in Mr. Rochester and St. John. The social and historical framework of marriage allows me to examine the characters of this novel from the perspective of woman’s consciousness.Marriage with love and mutual bond are elements of companionate marriage, which this research attempts to highlight. This novel has the pattern of women's consciousness which rejects Victorian conventionalities concerning marriage and domestic life.CharlotteBrontëcreates a radical form of marriage between equal partners only when Mr.Rochester realizes his mistakes and accepts marriage as based in mutual relationship.Item A STUDY ON SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS OF DONEY (RAIDANUWAR) TRIBE(Central Department of Economics Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, 2014-04) DANUWAR, RAJAN KUMAR
