It studies the deviation in the protagonist’s (Harry Haller) normal life followed by his discontent towards the changes seen in the overlapping phase. While reading this book from psychological and political perspectives, Haller’s deteriorating condition has become inevitable not because he is not following the change but because he denies to submit to the voice of crowd who hanker after the change. This lack of submission has caused insurmountable sufferings in his life, devastating his social and psychological integration. Thus, the primary aim of this study is to probe into the internal conflict of an individual and identify the reasons behind his/her deterioration at the moment of phasic instability. To this end, the paper answers the questions regarding the instability of contradictions formed after war (not specified in the novel); and shows resulting impacts on individuals. It also focuses on how the affected individual reforms himself in a newly formed era. For this, it makes a study of psychological and political dimensions of social formation. It approaches the dimensions through the study of Gustave Le Bon’s mass psychology; Edward Bernays’ implementation of propaganda; and Michel Foucault’s concept of discursive formation, madness and hermeneutics of subject. The paper comes to a finding that a shift in era comprises of manipulation of conscience and forming a collective unconscious where a projected crowd is oriented. Resistance towards the transition invites further bondage as an individual cannot flee power play.Item Financial Inclusion: New Measurement and Cross-Country Impact Assessment(2018-03) ADB; Park, Cyn-Young; Mercado, Rogelio Jr. V.Item Measuring Rice Yield from Space: The Case of Thai Binh Province, Viet Nam(2018-03) ADB; Guan, Kaiyu; Hien, Ngo The; Li, Zhan; Rao, Lakshman NagrajItem Empowerment By Saving And Credit Co-operative To Women: A Case Study of Pokhara Lekhnath-22(Department of Economics, 2018-03) Baral, GautamSaving and credit co-operative are financial institutions which can play significant role to develop Economic situation of the developing countries like Nepal.I have chosen a topic empowerment by saving and credit co-operative to women for the study. This research, however, focuses on the significance of the small hydropower project in the context of our country. Obviously Nepal has been facing many challenges due to lack of capital, infrastructure and technology to install large hydropower projects. In Such case, it is rather wise and practical to install small hydropower projects to fulfill our demand for electricity because it can be installed with small amount of capital to fulfill our demand for electricity because it can be installed with small amount of capital. So, we can encourage the private sector to invest on it. Likewise, it does not demand as sophisticated technology as the large projects to do. Moreover, it is free of hazardous environment impact. In all, it unlike the big projects, has more positive impacts than negative ones. So, the small hydropower projects can play a key role in the overall hydropower projects into the limelight through the study of impacts of Gandaki Hydropower Project in the overall sectors of the study area. Nepal has immense endowment of water resources. Theoretical and technical potentialities of hydropower are endowment of water resources. Theoretical and technical potentialities of hydropower are estimated to be 83,290 MW and 45,610 MW respectively. However economically viable capacity is accounted to be 42,133 MW. Simultaneity is the situation in which two things happen at the same time or it is the situation of togetherness. And the transnational people represent the possibility of having two identities, two homes, two families and two cultures at the same time. For accomplishing this analysis, I bring some of the key theoretical ideas from the theory of transnationalism which broadly refers to the contemporary way of living in a globalized world in which people can easily make cross-border connections. In this globalized world, people can travel the world physically as well as virtually and this paper explores how Adichie’s Americanah redefines the monolithic ways of looking at the issues of identity, citizenship, home, family nationality etc. Adichie achieves this redefinitions by representing the fictional characters like Ifemelu and Obinze as the Nigerian citizens who travel temporarily across their national borders leaving their loved ones back in Lagos. In spite of being deterritorialized from their original cultural and geographical location too, they make different linkages across their host lands that is their country of immigration to Nigeria. In America, Adichie’s protagonist Ifemelu comes to have a distinct identity, establishes her temporary home and family. After some years in the USA, she also achieves the provision of the American citizenship. Therefore, Adichie makes her characters like Ifemelu and Obinze the transnationals since Adichie aims at redefining the essentialist ways of looking at the issues like identity, citizenship, home, family, nationality and belonging.
