Abstract: The study entitled"Socio-Economic Status of the Raji People: A Case Study of the Raji of Taranga VDC, Surkhet" it has been carried out using primary data sources received from Taranga VDC–4, Sarkhet.The specific objectives of study area are 1. To analyze the social status of Raji community 11. To explore the cultural status of Raji (III) to find out economic status of Raj community. To meet the objectives of the study primary and secondary data were collected from the field survey. These data are analyzed descriptively and analytically with the help of computer software program. Total 25 households were selected as universal sample size.Descriptive research design has been adopted for this study. Method of methodology, techniques, research design, data collection, interview sampling etc.are used. To get primary data, field observation, key informants interview, focus group discussion and household survey also limited in study area only Raji community participation and decision making. The socio-economic condition is poorer than other cast/ethnic groups. Political, social, economic and education condition is very poor.Raji people are weak and marginalized in terms of economic status,social status, education level and political involvement, it is important for the country's all over the development that each community and ethnic group has the opportunities progress in a balance and appropriate manner. The special features which make the ethnic group clearly from other part of society are an asset to the nation. The equitable and sustainable rural development of nation will only be possible through there alization of their specific needs and rights.
