Abstract: The socio-economic status of third sex is unseen and untold issue. Academic discussion and various interactions have been needed for Urban and Rural areas.Since the Organization of the “Blue Diamond Society”, it is being an issue of much concern among the people of all strata. Few studies have been carried out in a capital city, identify the perceptions of these strata. But no studies have been carried out inregards to the Districts level. Socio-economic status plays an important role for a longperiod because of their prospect for national representation in future. Thus the study is carried out entitling as “The Socio-Economic Status of “Third Sex” A Study of Chitwan District.” This was accomplished by using the primary data obtained from 41 representatives of Blue Diamond Society’s of Chitwan Districts. Main objective of the study were to study the socio-economic characteristics of the third sex of Chitwan District, to studythe knowledge of HIV/AIDS and STI and to study the third sex related issues atchitwan districts. In references to the various socio-economic variables, the percaption of third sex was analyzed by quantitative and qualitative methods. In regards to the socio-economic condition of the representatives, this study has identified that among the 41 representative, 100 percent are third sex. 87.80 percent were unmarried and 12.2 percent were married. There are more (47.22percent)of there presentatives are from the age group of 25-29. The analysis has revealed that: 1. 80.48 percent of respondent were below the age of 34 years.2. Majority of the respondents are literate.3. Hundred percent respondents have knowledge of HIV\AIDS.4. Majority of respondents earned Rs.3000to Rs. 6000 per month.5. Cent percent respondents were treated by family, relatives, peers neighbours and police officers.
