Abstract: The main concern of this study is to explore the “Factors Affecting Girl's Achievement in Mathematics”. The objectives of this study were to explore the factors affecting the girl's achievement in mathematics at secondary level and to identify the strategies taken by the school administration to improve girl's mathematics achievement. This is the case study based on qualitative research as well as descriptive in nature. Tools for data collection were observation, interview and written documents. This study was conducted with the sample of ten girls’ students in grade IX, their Parents, Head teacher and Mathematics teacher of Shree Shreeman Tanka Secondary School of Dhankuta District. The researcher observed classroom for two weeks and interviewed with girl students, Head teacher, mathematics teacher and parents. Collected information were analyzed and interpreted with the help of conceptual frame-work and linking with theoretical construction. This research shows that family related factors such as parents education, support of parents, economic status and household work, school related factors such as class size, teacher’s biasness, techniques of teaching mathematics, personal related factors such as watching TV, playing games, prior achievement and interest of learner and social factors such as male dominated society, social belief and culture are the main affecting factors in mathematics achievement of girl students. New policies of school seem to have better educational attainment if the total school family cooperate each other and support from own area Government should make the policies for enhancing the learning of mathematics.
