Abstract: | Manjushree Thapa'sTilled Earthcarries the stories of different characters who have fallen in the state ofin-betweenness because of their having been acquainted with the different opposing cultures which seem to be innovative sites of both collaboration and contestation. At one level, the charatcters happen to encounter utter confusion, ambiguity and difficulty along with the enhancement of the double vision. By gaining the insights of both cultural aspects and the differences underlying there, on the one hand, they have been conscious about the crisis that has emerged in their original identity but on the other hand they even have found themselves with the options signaling the new signs of identity. |
