Abstract: The thesis entitled "Techniques Used in Teaching Mixed Ability EFL Classroom" was an attempt to find out the techniques used in teaching mixed ability EFL classroom and also compare the use of techniques between secondary and higher secondary school teachers. I collected the data by distributing the questionnaire to 40 teachers of secondary and higher secondary schools. They were from 20 secondary and 10 higher secondary schools of Dhanusha district. Two teachers from each higher secondary school were respondent for the data collection. The data was analyzed in order to identify and compare the techniques used by the teachers of secondary and higher secondary schools. The finding of this study was that most of the English teachers use student-centered techniques in the mixed ability EFL classroom. On the basis of the findings, some recommendations have been made to improve the existing pedagogical situation. There are four chapters in this study: the introduction, methodology, analysis and interpretation and findings and recommendations. The first chapter deals with the general background, literature review, objectives and the significance of the study. The second chapter contains the methodology which is sub-divided as the sources of data, population of the study, sampling procedure, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of study. The third chapter includes the analysis and interpretation of the data obtained from the field. The last fourth chapter has the findings and recommendations of the study in which some pedagogical implications have been recommended make the findings of this study better as well as strengthen such further studies.
