Politics Behind the Representation of Marginalized Social Groups in Nepalese War Stories

Abstract

The present dissertation undertakes the study of politics in representation of socially marginalized issues in Nepalese war stories written during and after the Maoist insurgency. This study tries to examine the politics behind the representation of different ethnic tribes, women, children,Madheshis,Dalitsand other religious minority groups in terms of new setting of war experiences. Because of socio-politico-cultural situatedness of the writers, above mentioned issues are overshadowed knowingly and unknowingly. The positive and negative expositions of the Maoist insurgency reflect the writers' background, which does not give justice to the presented issues but leads to the politicization. Ultimately, they turn out to be misrepresentations only. So, the indoctrinated writers' attempt to present the war experience leads to the formation of discourse, a result of writer’s politics.
