Abstract
This studyentitledAnalysis of the Novel 'WhatKaty Did' as a ChildLiteratureaimedto explore the features of child literature in the novel. Itwas carried out using only secondary sources of data. Itisaqualitativeresearch, the researcher read and re-read the novel. For this purpose,theresearcher prepared somequestionnairesastheresearch tool torelatethenovel with Nepalese culture then shemade a thorough analysis of the textdata. Ithas found thatthe novel is a perfect example of child literature,full of fantasy, imagination,child stocks and fairy tales. In fact the wholenovel was written from the psychoanalytical perspective and, accordinglyall the characters Viz. Katy, Helen, Clover,and others are manifestationof child literature. The novel is also said to be the recollection andreminiscence of the author childhood. This study has four chapters. The first chapter introducesthe study whichconsists of general background, review of related literature, objectivesand significanceof the study. The second chapter mainly concerns withthe methodology used in this study; the source of the data, samplingprocedure, tools of data collection and limitations of the study. Similarly,the third chapter of the study comprises analysis and interpretation of thedata. Based on the analysis and interpretation of the data, the fourthchapter concludes with the findings and recommendationsof the study.Furthermore, this chapter includes some suggestions. Finally, butforemost it present some guidelines to further researches who want tocarry out study on this very topic. The concludingpart includesthereferences and appendices used in thethesis.
