Abstract

The presentthesisentitled “Testing Quality Of Speaking Test :ACase of SLCSpoken Test’’ aims at determining the quality of speaking test in terms ofcontent, context, material and process To be specific, the study is concentrated to analyze the content, context,material and process of thespeaking test used in the SLC examination intheyear 2063. For the study, the researcher utilized the 3 sets of questionnaires: open, closed,and alternative types. The questionnaires were provided to 60 SLC students,administratorsandDEOs of the3districts. It was found that the contents,context, materials and process used in the SLCspoken test were not fixed and standard. In the response of the students andteachers, the test was onlya formality. This thesis work consists of four chapters. The 1st chapter is an introductorychapter, it includes the general background, and review of related literature,objectives of the study and significance of the study. The second chapter deals with methodology; how the research was carried out.It includes source of data (Primary and Secondary), population of study,sample population of study, tools and data collection, process of datacollections and limitation of the study Chapter three deals with the analysis and interpretation of data. This chapter isdivided into four sections. The sections 1, 2 and 3 dealwith the informationgiven by students, test administrators and DEOs through questionnaires givento them. Apart from the questions, the researcher interviewed with theinformants.But the section four focuses on the observation based on the spotactivities during the speaking test. The final chapter (i.e. fourth chapter) deals with the findings andrecommendationsof the study. Lastly, references and appendices follow thischapter.
