Abstract
The present thesis entitled TEACHERS' ATTITUDE TOWARDS LETTER
GRADING SYSTEM aimed to find out the teachers attitude towards letter grading
system. This is a quantitative type of research. Keeping the objectives in
consideration, fifty teachers from six different Secondary Schools of Jhapa district
were sampled through non – random purposive Sampling procedure. A set of
structured questionnaire was the tool of data collection. The questionnaire consists of
18 statements related grading system. Such as teachers’ attitude towards letter grading
system, educational management, implication and evaluation. The collected data were
organized, tabulated, analyzed and interpreted by using statistical tool such as
percentage to find out the attitude of teachers. The majority of teachers have positive
attitude towards letter grading system.
This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter one is introductory part, which includes
background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research
questions, Significance of the study, delimitations and operational definitions of key
terms. Similarly, chapter two includes review of theoretical literature, review of
empirical literature, implications of the review for the study, concept framework. The
third chapter deals with method and procedures of the study under which design of
the study, population and sample, sampling procedure, data collection tools, data
collection procedures, data analysis and interpretation procedure are mentioned.
Likewise, chapter four includes result and discussion and chapter five includes
summary, conclusion and implications.
