dc.description.abstractThis thesis has been prepared to identify and analyze errors committed by the grade ten students of Public Schools in the use of Active and Passive voice. The researcher used both primary and secondary sources of data.Tests and questionnaires were used to collect the data from 100 students of five different schools of Surkhet District. A set of test items was administered to the students and after having an analysis of the errors committed on the tests, the researcher again visited the selected schools and distributed a set of questionnaires to the concerned teachers to obtain relevant information. Sufficient secondary sources were used to evaluate and analyse the data obtained from the study.The findings of the study show that the boys of five different schools of Surkhet valley committed 77.76 percent of errors and the girls of the same schools committed 68.32 percent of errors out of the total sample test. The boys committed more errors than the girls. They committed more errors in using the correct form of the verbs. The study consists of four chapters. Chapter-one deals with the introduction. It consists of the English language, the English course of grade ten, an overview of active and passive voice, an overview of errors,review of the related literature, objectives and significance of the study.Chapter-two talks about the selection of study area as well as limitations of the study and forwards the methodology through which research is conducted to collect data.Chapter-three includes the analysis and interpretation of data which deals with the total errors in terms of different items and types of questions.Finally, Chapter-four makes a conclusive account of all the findings from specific analysis and interpretation of data which shows a clear picture of the level of students and the quality of teaching in the area.The final chapter presents findings and recommendations.en_US
