dc.description.abstractThe present study entitle ˝Verbal Affixation in English and Khaling˝hasbeen carried out with the objectives to identify the verbal affixes and theirrulesin the Khaling language and also to identify similarities and differencesinverbal affixationin English and Khaling.This studyis based onfifty nativespeakers of Khaling residing inBasa,Kanku, and WakuVDCs of Solukhumbudistrict.The researcherused stratified random samplingprocedure to samplethe population. The respondents were both literateand illiterate.Questionnairewas the research tool for data collection for literate andinterview was forilliterate respondents. On the basis ofthe collected data, the analysis has beendone.After analysis, it was found that the Khaling has more number of verbalaffixes in comparison to English and they are more complex than those ofEnglish. The study consistsof four chapters. Chapter one introduces the study in termsof general background of contrastive analysis, linguistic scenario ofNepal,morphology, review of the related literature, objectivesand significance of thestudy. Likewise, chapter two deals with the methodology applied to conductthe study. It encompasses the sources of data, population of the study, samplingprocedure, and researchtoolsfor data collection, process of data collection andlimitationsof the study. Similarly, chapter three deals with the analysis andinterpretation of the raw data obtained from the informants. Finally,chapterfour deals with the findingsand recommendations with suggestionsforpedagogical implications.en_US
