Abstract: The thesis entitled “Study of Kathmandu University Central Library with special reference to SOUL and Manual Operating System” is a comparison of two physical forms of operating system. The research indicates that the users are friendly in SOUL Integrated Library Software and it is found to be efficient. The study was done in 459 respondents. The research is focused on the study of SOUL Integrated Software & Manual Operating System in Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel, Kavre. The population has been selected from Kathmandu University School of Science, School of Engineering and School of Medical Science students. The questionnaire has used to make them fill for the purpose of data collection. The presentation of primary data has been done in tables & graphs to understand the study easily to reach for the conclusion. After conduct of the research, the researcher has found that the majority of students like to use SOUL Integrated Library Software in Kathmandu University. They replied that they use software for searching reading materials & also online free reading materials. They prefer electronic system in the library. Finally, the summary of the work with finding and some recommendations have been presented.
