This study therefore focuses on to find out relationship between mathematics teacher’s ages, gender, experience and student's achievement in mathematics. To fulfil the objective a quantitative research design was used. This study was carried out in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts. A sample of 104 mathematics teachers including 57 male teachers and 47 female teachers were included. Teacher's questionnaire was administered among 104 teacher to collect information about their age, gender and experience and mathematics achievement of student, the achievement of students was measured by their average score in mathematics. The collected data were tabulated and the mean, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, percentage and p-value were found by using SPSS program. The significant differences in the mean score were tested using t-test, z- test, ANOVA at 0.01 and 0.05 level of significance and multiple linear regression was used to see the cause and affect relationship of student average score with different characteristics of teachers. The descriptive statistics was used to analyse the achievement in mathematics at grade five, correlation analysis was used to find out correlation between the teacher's characteristics and student's achievement in mathematics, Regression analysis was used to predict the impact of teacher's characteristics into student's achievement in mathematics at grade five. The study was concluded that there is significant difference between student's achievement in mathematics and teacher's age and experience, and there is not significance difference between student's achievement in mathematics and teacher's gender at grade five of ix Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts. So the teacher's age, experience affect and gender doesn't affect in the student achievement in mathematics at grade five. |
