Abstract: This thesis shows how the consciousness concerning nationality resides in the minds of the migrated nationals, and manifests in the behavior of those nationals when the circumstances trigger. For this, the prime focus is laid on the nationality in this contemporary transnational world to explore how the traces of nationality manifest in the behavior of the nationals of a particular nation, especially Nepal. In order to support such traces of nationality, this study reviews the occasional behavioral practices of people where in the feelings concerning nationality can be conspicuously seen when one face shard ship and discrimination in the foreign land. This research proves that the sense of attachment to the national and cultural values strengthens when one experiences hardships and difficulties in the foreign countries. It suggests that one should understand the nationality not in terms of abstract conceptualization but in terms of the cultural responses of the nationals of a particular nation. Thus, this research avers that people’s attachments to the native cultures do not easily evaporate from their minds; rather, they want to reinvigorate and spread such cultural values in order to create their distinct identities in the foreign land even more n this transnational world.
