Abstract: This thesis is presented on the topic “Prevalence of Tuberculosis in Uranw Community” in Baraha municipality of Sunsari district. To ascertain the educational and economic status of TB patients, to find out the complications of TB in uranw people and to find out the accessibility of the health service provider are the main objectives of this study. The total population of Uranw people in this municipality was 2634. Among them 1210 were males and 1424 were females. 91 males and 19 females TB infected Uranw people were taken as sample by simple random sampling process. The necessary data were collected by observation, interview and related books, journals. From the study it is found that most of the Uranw TB infected people were illiterate and poor educated, their occupations were to be engaged in daily wages, few of them had their own land. They were working in their working place without having any precautions. Due to the low income their lifestyles were very poor. They were very much careless about their illness. Their family size was also bigger. Among the 110 total population 43.63% people were found illiterate, 54.54% people were found literate only. TB infected 45.45% people were found to be engaged in daily wages to run their family. From the study population 80.90% people used to earn less than fifty thousands anually. TB infected 43.63% people have more than five members in their family. Many complications had seen in TB infected people like 71.72% people were infected from dyspnea complication. Due to the lack of education and linguistic problem 5.45% people felt that they are discriminated still in DOTs centers. About 90% TB infected Uranw people used to go the DOTs centers for treatment but some of them didn’t go regularly. Due to which many complications like empyema, laryngitis, fever, dyspnea, weight loss, lumbar pain, neurological disorder etc. were found in TB infected Uranw people. So, to overcome the infections of TB in Uranw people their lifestyles should be uplifted by providing safe opportunities in working place, education should be provided on the basis of equity. Government should expand the more service centers with all necessary facilities.
