dc.description.abstractThe research work entitled Feminist Voices in the Poetry: A Case of Poems from New Paradigm was carried out to see the gap, discrimination and inequality between man and woman. The main objectives of this study were to find out women's voices for equality and empowerment and to find out how culture determines the role of male and female in the society. To fulfill the objectives of the study I collected data from the poems: I am Becoming My Mother, An Introduction, The Fisherman Mourned by His Wife, Letter from Mama Dot and Phenomenal Woman. For the purpose of data collection I applied observation and intensive reading of poems and used diary to take notes. The collected data were analyzed and interpreted descriptively. This thesis is divided into five different chapters. The first chapter, Introduction deals with the background of the study, statement of the problems, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definitions of the key terms. Similarly, the second chapter consists of the review of the theoretical literature, review of the empirical literature, implication of the review for the study and conceptual framework. The third chapter deals with the methodological aspects under which design and method of the study, population, sample and sampling strategy, study area/field, data collection tools and techniques, data collection procedure and data analysis and interpretation of data and the summary are presented. Finally the fifth chapter of the study consists of conclusions and recommendations of the study for policy making level and practice level with some directions for the future research work. The major findings of the study are women’s poor lifestyle, domestic violence, tourcher and harassment. Women raise voice for equality, freedom and empowerment. Women want to change traditional thoughts to become independent person.en_US
