Abstract: | This thesis presents a comprehensive study on the integration of Distributed Generation (DG) into power systems, with a focus on the optimal placement and sizing of DG units. The research aims to investigate the impact of DG on system stability and power loss reduction, as well as to propose a novel optimization algorithm for the optimal placement and sizing of DG units. The integration of distributed generation (DG) is expected to play an important role in the electric power system planning and market operations. As DG are integrated into the distribution system, it results in operating situations that hampers the conventional system without generation directly connected at the distribution level. |
