Abstract: The research study entitledTeachingPortfolio for Teacher ProfessionalDevelopmentwas carried outto findout practice of teaching portfolioas astrategy for teachers' professional development. The study consisted ofprimary and secondary sources of data. For primary data, twenty principalsand twenty English teachers of secondaryandhigher secondary level wereelected from Okhaldhunga district. Forty respondents were selected byapplying non-random judgmental sampling procedure. During the period ofdata collection, I distributed the questionnaire. It was found that most of theteachers are aware of teaching portfolio and professionalism. The teachersviewed that professionalism could be well developed when they actuallyadopted teaching portfolio for their own learning. Similarly, the principalsviewed that the portfolio provided extra teaching spirit and confidence to theteachers. This study consists of five chapters; introduction, review of related literatureand conceptual framework, methods and procedure of the study, results anddiscussion and summary, conclusion and implication. Chapter one presentsthe general background, statement of theproblem, rational of the study,objective of the study, research questions and hypothesis, significance of thestudy, delimitation of the study and operational definition of the key terms.Chapter two deals with the review of the related literature, implication ofthe review for the study, theoretical and conceptual framework. In the sameway, chapter three includes the design of the study, population and sample,sampling procedure, tools for data collection and process of data collection.Similarly, chapter four represents the result and discussion/interpretationpart of the research work. Moreover, the last chapter involves the summary,conclusion and implication at various levels i.e. policy level, practice leveland further research. This last chapter is followed by reference andappendices.
