Abstract: This study was based on "The Effectiveness of GeoGebra on Teaching Linear Equation ". The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of GeoGebra and its perception in teaching linear equation. This research has conducted by using mixed method. This study involved forty student of grade eight from Heartland academy Kathmandu, Nepal. The forty students were divided into two groups as experimental group and control group by random sampling technique. The data was collected by using achievement test of linear equation and questionnaire for perception of student towards GeoGebra. The experimental group was subjected to the lessons arranged with the GeoGebra software in computer- assisted teaching method, while the control group was subjected to the lessons shaped with traditional method. The data were collected by the experiment two weeks of teaching. Significance result was found in achievement score of the experimental and control group in favour of the experimental group at 5% level of significance. Furthermore, the perception of the students towards the use of GeoGebra in teaching was found the positive. So the researcher concludes that GeoGbra is an effective tool for teaching linear equation.
