Impact of Political Developmenton Tourism Industry In Nepal (1990-2015 Ad)

Abstract

This thesis entitled IMPACT OF POLITICAL DEVELOPMENT ON TOURISM INDUSTRY IN NEPAL (1990-2015) has been prepared and presented as the academic requirement of the master degree program in Political Science. Politic is such thing that guidance for country and government. In today’s modern world different kinds of political movement has been held like Middle East conflict or African country’s violence. In south Asia there is different kinds of political changes are being held among them political unrest of Nepal is clear example. Political history of Nepal is very up and down condition at the beginning of 20th century. That directly effect for different sector, among different tourism sector is one. Being a developing country tourism history is not so long. Lack of unstable political condition tourism of Nepal is being not stable and not in progressive . Main reason for such condition from two decade ten years long Maoist conflict, royal massacre and different peoples revolution. Such unrest situation has been directly affect tourism industry of Nepal. Tourism has become an important sector to contribute in the economy of Nepal. It is the main source of foreign currency earning also, development of tourism sector has contributed to increase employment, income generation and to improve the balance of payment of the country. Nepal has become the attractive destination for tourist from all over the word. If such unrest work can stop tourism industry of Nepal can main source for income generation for the country. Tourism has brought positive impacts on economy, society and environment of Nepal. Tourism helps to develop the infrastructure like road, electricity, water supply, health, education and communication brings changes in living of people, behavior pattern of people, dresses, life style, language and food habit are positive impact of tourism. Also, the local people of the study area have got opportunities to learn the language of the different countries. Tourism has created the various type of employment opportunities for local people. However tourism and politics are interrelated because political parties make government and make plan and policy by according to preamble. By good plan and policy tourism sector will make develop x like other sector. Without proper plan and policy country can nod go ahead for development each and every sector. By different political condition tourist flow to visit Nepal is very fluctuating from 1990 to 2015 AD. In this period different political incident were held like peoples movement of 2046 BS, ten years long Maoist Revolution, Royal massacre, second peoples revolution of 2063-63, Regional revolution, Ethnic Revolution, Terai Andholan and boarder blocked at the end of 2015. Such kinds of political incident was discourage for visitors to visit in Nepal. Being such political condition from 1190 to 2015, tourist flow is fluctuating and at the end of 2015, the visit scenario of tourist is positive. But some kinds of impact can make by tourist also. Like pollution, cultural impact like westernization, prostitution, noise pollution by playing music etc. However, negative impacts are not beyond control. They are manageable. They can be minimized by proper management of tourism activities and resources.
