Abstract: The present thesis entitled 'Subject- verb Agreement in English and Thami 'was carried out to compare and contrast English subject-verb Agreement system with Thami language and to suggest some pedagogical implications on the basis of the findings drawn from the study. To accomplish the objectives of the study, the researcher collected data from forty native speakers of Thami language by using interview schedule.English data were collected from secondary sources. The major findings of the study are that Thami verbs agree with tense, aspect, person and number. But the Thami verbs do not agree with gender and honorific forms. This thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter includes general background, review of related literature, objectives of the study,significance of the study and definitions of the related terms. Similarly,the second chapter deals with sources of data, sample of the study, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study.The third chapter comprises the analysis and interpretation of collected data and the fourth chapter deals with findings and recommendations of the study.
