Abstract: The present study entitled ‘Effectiveness of discovery technique in teachingconditional sentences’ is an attempt to find out the effectiveness of discoverytechnique in teaching conditional sentences in particular and grammar ingeneral.It is an experimental study.The primary source of data was the classnine students of Shree Manohar Secondary School in Tanahun. They weredivided into experimental and control groups andadministered pre-test andpost-test and data was gathered. It isconcluded that the implementation ofdiscovery technique in teaching conditional sentences is relatively moreeffectiveand successful than other techniques This study has been divided into fourchapters. The first chapter deals withintroduction to the study. The second chapter deals with methodology. Itincludes sources of data (primary and secondary). Population of the study,sampling procedures, tools of data collection, process of data collection,designs and limitations of the study. The third chapter presents the analysisand interpretation of the data collected from the respondents. It consists ofholistic and item-wise comparisons of pre-test and post-test results. The dataobtained have been analyzed and interpreted with the help of statisticalmeasures. Lastly, the fourth chapter incorporates findings andrecommendations.
