The thesis entitled ‘Developing Speaking Skill Through Group work Technique ' is an effort of the researcher to find out the impact of group work technique in developing speaking skill. The main objective of the study is to find out the development of speaking skill through group work technique. To meet the objectives of the research thirty five students from grade – 9 of Shree Saraswati Higher Secondary School, Mattim -2, khotang were taken as a practical study. These students were taught during thirty days and four different tests were taken according to the time schedule. The collected data through different tests were analyzed and interpreted using the tables. After analysis, interpretation and comparison of the data, it was found that students got higher scores in post –test than the pre- test. Likewise they got better proficiency in pronunciation, fluency, grammar, paralinguistic features and subject matter than previous test. So I reached the conclusion that the group work technique is better technique in developing speaking skill. I have divided this thesis in to four chapters’ Introduction, Methodology, Analysis and Interpretation and Finding and Recommendations. The first chapter deals with the general background, literature review, objectives and significance of the study, the second chapter contents the methodology which has sub-chapters as the sources of data, sampling procedures, tools for data collection, processes of data collection and the limitations of the study. The third chapter includes the analysis and interoperation of the data obtained from practical study. The last chapter is finding and recommendation, in which some pedagogical implications have been recommendeden_US
