Abstract: The present study entitled “An Analysis of the Language Used in the Various Certificates Issued by the Schools” aims to analyze the language used in character/transfer certificates in terms of types of sentence, tense, voice and register. The data of the research were secondary, and were judgmentally collected from the related private boarding schools in Kaski district. Then, the data were collected through observation -the tool for data collection. The outcomes extracted from the data were tabulated on the basis of their linguistic characteristics. Next, the register were analyzed comparing the common meaning with specific meaning. then, simple statistical tools were used to analyze the data by calculating the average and percentage. The language of character/transfer certificates was studied. It was found that the language of certificates used simple sentences, non-past tense and active voice are highly used. By using data, an effort was made to compare the register words specific and common meaning. The words used in character/transfer certificates have different meaning from their general meaning. This thesis comprises four chapters. The chapters are further divided into sub-headings. Chapter one deals with general background of the study and its other sub-headings-review of the related literature, objectives of the study and significance of the study. Chapter two mainly deals with the methodology which includes the sources of data, process of data collection, sample population and limitation of the study. Chapter three consists of the analysis and interpretation of the collected data. Here, descriptive approaches as well as statistical tools have been adopted. Chapter four summarizes the whole study where findings with some recommendations have been drawn.
