dc.description.abstractThis study,“Domestic Violence Against Women in Makwanpur”, conducted inPadampokahari VDC in Makwanpur district, attempts to explore the knowledge andexperience of women on Domestic Violence. According to VDC profile of CBS 2001, there are nearly 314 household in each wardof Padampokhari VDC. From the selected ward (1 and 9) 50/50 households havepurposively selected andfrom each household one female have selected at the age of10 years and above. According to field survey the knowledge of DVAW is poor and the level ofexperience is high. According to opinion of respondents the main cause of Domestic Violence iseconomicdependency and lack of education. Where as sexual attacks is the mainform of violence in the study area. However, focus group discussion, victim supportprogram, education, launches of awareness, women empowerment and, skill trainingprogram is support toreduce the violence against women.en_US
