dc.description.abstractThisstudy on"Domestic Violence Against Women: A Study of Urlabari VDC WardNo. 6 Morang District,"was carried out by using the primary data collated in the fieldsurvey. The field survey covered selected ward no. 6 of Urlabari VDC of Morang and135 married women are selected under the systematic random sampling. The main objective of this study is find out the extend of domestic violence on thebasis of different demographic and socio-economic status, to examine the knowledgeand awareness of women on legal provision, to identify the causesand eliminateofdomestic violence. The study population includes on married, widow, divorce and separated women. In the study, it is found that Domestic Violence is heavy to the women not havingchildren, Divorced women, married women, uneducated women, Dalit women andhousewife women. According to field survey, out of total respondents, 98.5 percent knew about domesticviolence against women and 92.6 percent women are victim of domestic violencewith their family member. The status of women's legal right and community basedorganization is poor. In the study, 86.7 percent said awareness, 10.4 percent said improve women statusand 3.0 percent said punished perpetrators to eliminate or to reduce DV. The research entitledDomestic Violence Against Womenexposes the situation of thewomen living in the research area where the condition of women is poorer than that ofthe male in each aspect of their life.en_US
