Abstract: The study on the "Fertility Behaviour of Rajbanshi Women" is carried ouby collecting primary data from the census-type survey for some selectedRajbanshi village in Lakhanpur VDC Ward No. 1 of Jhapa district. Therespondents are currently married women of age group 15-49 years. Thetotal Rajbanshi household of the study area are 97. Among thesehouseholds the eligible women are found only 105 in number. The mainobjectives of this study are to identify the demographics and socioeconomic characteristics of Rajbanshi community, to analyze the effect ofamily planning, knowledge and behaviour of fertility among theRajbanshi communityand to examine the relationship between CEB anddemographic and socio-economic characteristics. The collection of the data procedure is based on personal interviews andthe frequency tables cross tables and mean table as well as statistical toolare also preformed to examine the interrelationship between selectedindependent and dependent variables. The main number of Children Ever Born (CEB) was found to be 3.25children per women among Rajbanshi women of study area. The meanCEB was found increasing with the increase the age of mother. Thehighest mean CEB was found to be 4.93 per women for the age group45-49 and lowest mean CEB was found to be 0.80 for age group 15-19The mean CEB is inversely related with the age at marriage, educationincome and in the case of child-loss experience family size foundpositively related.
