Abstract: The present research was carried out to analyze the textbook ‘Expanding Horizons in English’ majoring English B.Ed. second year in the terms of its peripheral and academic aspects. This study was also an attempt to find out the opinions of students about ‘Expanding Horizons in English’ who were studying as a specialization, English course and teachers who were teaching textbook ‘Expanding Horizons in English’ as a partial material of the specialization course no. 322 at B.Ed. second year. The researcher selected seventy students of B.Ed. second year majoring in English and seven teachers teaching the book at different campuses of Surkhet and Banke districts. One set of checklist for personal judgment of the researcher and two sets of opinionnaire tools and one set of open-ended questionnaire were used for teachers and students to carry out this research. In terms of collected data, the opinions of the students and teachers were also determined and analyzed. The researcher studied the book and evaluated using check list tools. The main findings of this study show that the textbook has both strong and weak points. The strong aspects are more than weak ones. The researcher, teachers and students have positive opinions to the textbook ‘Expanding Horizons in English’. The present study is divided into four chapters. The first chapter deals with the language background, language teaching learning, English language teaching situation in Nepal, introduction to curriculum, syllabus, course of study and textbook. The theoretical framework for textbook analysis, literature review, objectives of the study and significance of the study. The second chapter is concerned with methodology. It consists of primary and secondary sources of data, population of study, sample population, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. The third chapter analyzes and interprets the data. The fourth chapter is related with findings. On the basis of findings, some strengths and weaknesses of the book are included and some recommendations are drawn of the present study
