dc.description.abstractThe present study entitled "Nepali Code-Mixing in Nepalese English Dailies" attempts to present mainly a descriptive study to find out mixed Nepali expressions in the Nepalese English Dailies. The study was carried out using secondary sources of data only. The major tool for collecting data was observation schedule. To collect secondary data, three Nepalese English dailies namely 'The Kathmandu Post', 'The Rising Nepal' and 'The Himalayan Times' were taken into account. The sample mentioned so far was observed rigorously to collect the required data. After the regular analysis of the data, it was found that one hundred and five Nepali expressions were mixed in the sampled English dailies. Regarding the nature of mixed Nepali expressions, only words and phrases were found. Among the total mixed Nepali expressions, 88 words and 17 phrases were mixed in the sampled population. This study consists of four chapters: Introduction, Methodology, Analysis and Interpretation and Findings, Pedagogical Implications and Recommendations. The first chapter incorporates the general background, literature review, objectives of the study and significance of the study. The second chapter deals with the methodology used in the study: the sources of data, sampling procedure, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. Similarly, the third chapter includes the analysis and interpretation of the data collected. Code-mixing in the sampled population was analyzed in terms of holistic analysis, major word classes, phrases and cultural perspectives. The fourth chapter comprises of findings, pedagogical implications and recommendations made after the analysis and interpretation of data collected so far.en_US
