dc.description.abstractThis research entitled"Exploitation of Femalein Hardy'sTess of the d'Urbervilles" explores the male domination and exploitation of women the Victorian era. This research is done from feminist perspectives. It focuses on how males used to dominate females and how they were responsible to bring tragedy in females’ life in the Victorian peasant society.This research is divided into four chapters. First chapter deals with the life and works of Hardy. It also explores how female characters are presented in his major novels. Second chapter deals about feminist movement and feminist literary criticism. Similarly,the third chapter explores how exploitation of female is reflected in the text. The last chapter presents conclusion of the research.en_US
