Abstract: The title of the research is ‘A Study on Achievement of Coherence in Writing’. The main purpose of this research was to find out the use of coherence in writing by bachelor level students. In order to do so, the researcher collected the data from two colleges in Chitwan district. The sample population consisted of 80 students and they were selected by using simple random sampling procedure. After collecting the data, the students’ achievement was analyzed on the basis of marks and percentages they secured. It was found that the students studying in Chitwan district were good in achieving coherence in paragraph writing with the average percentage of 67.7. This thesis consists of four chapters: chapter one deals with general background, review of related literature, objective of the study, significance of the study and the definition of thes pecificterms. Chapter two deals with methodology. It consists of source of data, population of the study, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. Both primary as well as secondary sources were consulted for data collection. Eighty students from two different colleges of Chitwan district were randomly selected as the sample. Chapter three consists of analysis and interpretation of the obtained data. Chapter four consists of the findings and recommendations of the study. The findings and relevant recommendations have been presented on the basis of the analysis and interpretation of the data. This chapter is followed by references and appendices.
