dc.description.abstractThe present research was carried out to analyze the textbook Meanings into Words for grade twelve, in terms of its peripheral and academic aspects. While analyzing, the researcher used only the secondary source of data using check-list as the research tool. The main findings of the study are: -the objective of the +2 curriculum are clearly reflected on the objective of the textbooks and -the contents are well selected, graded and organized in hierarchical order on the basis of psycholinguistic principles. The present study is divided into four major chapters. The first chapter deals with introduction. It consists of general background of the study, review of related literature, objectives of the study and significance of the study. The second chapter concerns with the methodology that the researcher has adopted to carry out the research work. The third chapter analyses and interprets peripheral and academic aspects of the book. The fourth chapter is related to the findings derived from the analysis and interpretation of the textbook. On the basis of findings, some recommendations and pedagogical implications are drawn. This chapter is followed by reference and appendix.en_US
