dc.description.abstractThe descriptive explanatory type of study has been carried out with the purpose of assessing the status of Dalits elderly Population. This study is based on primary data collected from Keware and Tindobate VDC of syangaja district. The census method of data enumeration is adopted. The main objectives of the study are to find out the demographic,psychological and socio-economic status of the elderly people. In this study, age, sex, marital status, live birth, ideal birth, etc. are taken as demographic condition. Similarly, expect from family, aloneness, depression, passing time,satisfied with own age, requirements, enjoyful age are taken as psychological condition and education, caste, religion, household decision, occupation, expenditure, saving, health care system,living status, elderly allowance is taken as socio-economic condition In this study, sampling procedure is not required because there is adopted the census method due to small size of Dalit elderly people has found in those VDC. Among the Dalit there has found only Damai, Kami and Sarki. The majority is Sarki (52%), and followed by Kami (37%) and Damai (11%) respectively. Male respondents have found higher compare to female. Ageing Population is decreased with increasing age. Educational status is also satisfactory compare to national educational status. Majority (55%) has adopted agricultural occupation, live birth of elderly’s is 5 and above reported by 48 percent,and household decision is generally done by son or daughter. Majority (almost27%) elderly are passing their time by household works. Most of elderly (almost 72%) are notable to get allowance.Likewise, most of elderly expect love and affection from family. Almost 96 percent are never participated in politics. 93 percent elderly are unknown about the senior citizen act. This study finding shows that the elderly Population should have educational as well as training facilities. There are also problems of food so it should be fulfilled and social discrimination should be avoided. Furthermore, there should be managing of elderly home.en_US
