Abstract: The thesis entitled "Effectiveness of Magazine Cutouts for Teaching English Prepositions " was an attempt to find out the effectiveness of magazine cutouts in teaching English prepositions. It has been carried out practically and comparatively. To carry out this research, thirty students of grade - V from the government school "Shree Shiwalaya Higher Secondary School" Kushma, Parbat, were selected as sample population. A test consisting of five different test items were used as the main tool for data collection. A pre-test was administered before starting teaching to determine the proficiency of the students. Then, they were divided into two groups on the basis of the odd-even serial number according to the individual scores obtained in the pre-test. After that, both groups were taught the same subject matter. The only difference between experimental group and controlled group was that magazine cutouts were used for teaching English prepositions to the experimental group and the usual technique was used for controlled group. After the completion of teaching, a post-test (the same test) was administered. Then, the results of both pre-test and post-test were compared to determine the role of magazine cutouts in teaching prepositions. The main finding of this thesis is that teaching English prepositions using magazine cutouts is more effective than teaching without them. This thesis is divided into four chapters. Each chapter is divided into different sub- headings. The first chapter deals with general background of the study, review of the literature, objective of the study and significance of the study. The second chapter deals with the methodology, data gathering procedure and limitations of the study. The third chapter deals with analysis, interpretations and presentation of the data. The chapter four deals with the findings and recommendations of the study in which some pedagogical implications have been recommended to carry out similar type of further studies. It is dealt with the help of analysis and interpretation of the collected data
